Tween Girls Clothing Company, Palooza, LLC appeals to Tween Micro-Niche Market – offering Children’s and Juniors Apparel in One Ecommerce Site

Palooza, LLC, a new tween girls clothing company distinguishes itself by catering to a small niche market within an existing marketplace. It is well known that entering Middle School is a huge milestone for tween girls. Just ask any parent, or any Middle School girl and they will produce a lengthy list of ways these girls and families are changing. It is not uncommon for these tween girls to experience big adjustments in their interests, fashion sense, and emotional needs. There are certainly new challenges for pre-teen girls and their parents. Shopping for back to school becomes an Olympic Sport to many families.

That is exactly what, one Mother and Daughter experienced when getting ready for middle school in 2011. "Together we spent marathon hours in dressing rooms at every store imaginable. Discounters, department stores, retailers, children's stores, women's stores and trendy young adult stores. We even tried local boutique stores for clothes that appealed to my daughter's sense of playful fashion." At every attempt to find clothes that appealed, there was a resounding "No."

There isn't a parent around that hasn't run into that kind of response in this age group. Pre-teens are not known for their ability to make concessions when it comes to their parents. But this was different than a simple situation of give and take. fashion coats This wasn't your typical disagreement over what is age appropriate and what is too revealing. This was different because it wasn't Mom saying No – it was her daughter. Mom was saying, "Try it, you never know" and her daughter was saying "Not for me, Mom."

So, like many Mompreneurs, Stacey Seguin began asking questions, and observing what the options were for pre-teen girls. Stacey Seguin believes "The Great Tween Marketing Machine" is aimed at ages 7-12, who wear sizes according to their age. But, this reflects an oversimplification. In truth, many girls age 10 are ready for Junior size 3. However, what preteens find in traditional junior departments and stores may surprise and disappoint them. Good luck navigating the missing backs and low cut fronts and see thru fabrics with a super choosy tween.

That is what Stacey Seguin and her daughter experienced. Sarah who was then a rising 5th grader, decided to find a way to bring a different kind of Tween Clothing store to girls and parents who are short on time and want to have the benefit of both children's sizes and junior sizes in one place. Together, with Sarah's friend Jordyn, who was then a rising 4th grader, Palooza, LLC took root. Their vision: an online, boutique, tween girls clothing company that would be the go to place for rising middle school girls.

Palooza is fun, and different; in tune to girls growing perceptions of themselves, catering to socially conscious tweens and their parents. It is a well defined micro-niche market. Stacey Seguin says, "We are small. We aren't trying to be big, we are just trying to do something for a select group of girls who aren't satisfied, or have different needs than the mass marketplace for tweens can provide. Palooza – Uniquely Tweens is focused on this small gap in the market place".

ShopRDR.com Highlights Designer Fashion Trends Set by Cinema

To help luxury lovers stay informed on the latest in upscale style and Hollywood happenings, Rodeo Drive Resale (http://www.shopRDR.com), premier reseller of 100% authentic guaranteed handbags and fashions including top pieces including discount Tiffany & Co. Jewelry, Manolo Blahnik heels and discount Prada handbags, examines entertainment's influence on high fashion.

Before Hollywood learned the immense power for the celebrity co-sign, onscreen fashion was, for the most part, considered just another part of the film. But as moviegoers began to fawn over items worn by stars such as Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe, wardrobe designers became trendsetters and fashion houses discovered an untapped market with which they could display their latest creations.

Now, several of Hollywood's most talked about celebrities are side-stepping endorsements in favor of their own brand: On Sept. 9, luxury lovers and fans of actress Katie Holmes will be privy to the New York Fashion Week runway debut of her clothing line, Holmes & Yang. Although several brands carried by ShopRDR.com are set to host shows during Fashion Week, all eyes are expected be on Holmes, whose label has seen a surge in popularity since her high profile split from actor Tom Cruise. Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce and Victoria Beckham have also all taken a shot at designer fashion.

With New York Fashion Week (September 6-13) underway, shopRDR.com takes a look back at a few classic movies in which style and cinema unite to create moments as unforgettable as they are influential.

1)    THE BREAKTHROUGH BREAKFAST: From the jewelry to the unforgettable scenes to the wardrobe, the 1961 film adaptation of Truman Capote's novella not only catapulted Audrey Hepburn into Hollywood superstardom, but made Coco Chanel's little black dress a fashion necessity for women around the world.

2)    ONE HOT LOOK: Being fashionable and evil is not easy task, but Meryl Streep pulls off a devilishly fantastic performance as overbearing fashion magazine editor Miranda Priestly in the 2006 comedy-drama The Devil Wears Prada. Full of fashion, humor and heart, this film is a must-see for lovers of great cinema and equally great style.

3)    A SHOE SENSATION: "I adore Ms. Parker," Blahnik revealed during a May 2009 interview with VOGUE.COM. "The character she played has had such a role in my career - I cannot help but regard both of them as muses! I adore cinema generally and a large chunk of fashion coats my collections is inspired by it. It could be a character, a scene, or just the spirit of a movie. I watch them all night long." Carrie Bradshaw (played by actress Sarah Jessica Parker) of Sex in the City fame had a love affair with Manolo Blahnik heels, and her affliction toward the luxury pumps made the already popular brand ever more so desired by fans of the popular HBO series.

ShopRDR.com loves and carries many of these iconic brands and more, and as cinema continues to play a role in popular fashion trends, the online reseller will continue to offer its clients spectacular discounts on high-end fashion houses from around the world.

Rodeo Drive Resale (shopRDR.com) has built a reputation of providing amazing deals on handbags, clothing and accessories from the top designers of upscale fashion. The company offers a 100% guarantee of authenticity on each item sold, and works daily with a network of clients looking to buy, sell, or for consignment of their luxury goods. ShopRDR.com loves high-end fashion, and believes finding a high quality, classic piece should be an easy, enjoyable -- and most importantly -- hassle-free shopping experience. The Relevance of Information Processing to Jurors' Decision-making

There are three major factors that account for the difficulty the defense has with presenting a general causation case to a jury. They have to do with the ways in which people process information; the relevance of general causation evidence to what the jurors care about; and the complexity of the evidence. This article will discuss the first of these.

In every day life people do not always think in the most logical and rational fashion. The work of two different Nobel Prize winners is illuminating here. Herbert Simon won the Nobel Prize for Economics in 1978. He developed a theory of decision-making based on the idea of bounded rationality. People face uncertainty about the future and there are costs that are often insurmountable that are associated with acquiring information in the present.

Because of this, people are unable to make fully rational decisions. They only have "bounded rationality." People are either unable or unwilling to maximize the rationality of the decisions that they make (because they are unable or unwilling to acquire all the information they need to do so). They make decisions by "satisficing"; setting an aspiration level, which, if achieved, they will be happy enough with (Simon, Herbert (1997) Administrative Behavior 4th Edition, New York: The Free Press).

Let's take as an example a decision about whether to fly or take the train from Boston to New York where time is of utmost importance. Attempting to make a maximally rational decision a person might investigate the percentage of on-time arrivals for both the plane and the train; how this is affected by the time of day; and the impact of weather conditions. However, what is more likely is that the person will ask a few people who have taken both modes of transportation about their expe women's coats riences with on-time arrival. That information will be satisficing.

In the courtroom, the jurors are given enormous amounts of information in a very unnatural manner. What the defense lawyers and their expert witnesses often attempt to do is provide jurors with the information they need to make a maximally rational decision. It would take a superhuman effort to absorb, understand, and remember all this information in the artificial format of the courtroom.

This is particularly true in a complex toxic tort or products liability case. Jurors make decisions based on what they generally know to be an incomplete understanding of the evidence. They seek to make decisions that will be satificing to them, even if the are not maximally rational. What we often find out from jurors when they have listened to all the evidence on causation that what is determinative for them is the experience they, their family members, and friends may have had with the substance in question.

Some jurors also stop making the cognitive effort to acquire the information presented to them in the generally mistaken belief that a fellow juror is acquiring it for them (a satificing result). Instead of asking ourselves what a juror would want to know in order to make a reasonable decision about the relationship between exposure to a substance and a disease, we mistakenly ask ourselves what we want to tell them. The consequence is that they get too much information. Like all of us, jurors have a handy ability to forget, reinterpret, and disbelieve information that is not consistent with the way they have decided to process the information.

The work of the 2002 Nobel Prize in Economics, Daniel Kahneman (and his late colleague, Amos Tversky) shows that there are common methods people use to "make judgments under uncertainty" (Tversky, Amos and Daniel Kahneman (1974) "Judgment Under Uncertainty: Heuristics and Biases, Science, 185, 1124-1131). They call these heuristics, or rules of thumb. Again, while they are not necessarily rational in the economic sense, they make sense to the decision-maker.

In a famous example, they point out how many people are willing to drive across town to save $5 on a $15 calculator, but would not be willing to drive across town to save $5 on a $125 coat. Rationally, if the first decision-makes sense then the second makes equal sense. We find examples of this same kind of reasoning in the courtroom. Jurors will see a chemical that causes the death in ten people in a million as more dangerous than one that cause one death in a hundred thousand.

Two forms of heuristics stand out in their work in terms of their applicability to science in the courtroom. The first is the availability heuristic. If it is easier for a person to imagine or recall an event then the person is more prone to judge the event as more likely to occur. People overestimate the frequency of low probability but dramatic hazards. Our research has shown that people overestimate the frequency of deaths from lung cancer in this country. The mortality rate from lung cancer for women in 1999 was 40 out of 100,000 (American Cancer Society (2003), Cancer Facts and Figures 2003, p.4).

Our research shows that most people believe the mortality rate to be between one and five percent. Other research has shown that people overestimate the likelihood of nuclear power plant accidents. On the other hand, people under-estimate high probability hazards that are less memorable such as certain diseases (Covello, V.T. (1995) "Risk Comparison and Risk Communication: Issues and Problems in Comparing health and environmental Risks in Kasperson, R.E. and P.M. Stallen (eds), Communicating Risk to the Public, Dordecht: Kleuer Academic Press).

These points are very important in the context of a scientific defense of causation in the courtroom. If the plaintiff has suffered an injury that is familiar to the juror or easily imagined, then the juror is likely to overestimate the likelihood of it happening and believe the defense should have anticipated this likelihood and done something to prevent it (further reinforced by the hindsight bias in which people tend to view something that happened as inevitable and therefore something that could have been anticipated). If the injury or illness is unfamiliar to the juror, the juror is likely to see it as a rare event that therefore is likely to have an idiosyncratic cause (such as the product or substance the plaintiff claimed caused it).

The second heuristic is the representativeness heuristic. This refers to the tendency of people to ignore the size of the sample and the base rate when making inferences about causation. Let us take the example of PCBs. Here the literature used by plaintiffs is replete with scientific studies that rely on very small sample sizes and which make no attempt to compare the prevalence of a disease the sample to the prevalence of the disease in the general population. But these studies are still appealing to jurors. If someone has PCBs in their blood and a disease that has been related to PCB exposure, jurors tend to ignore the base rate of the percentage of people in the population with PCBs in their blood (which is one hundred percent).

The work of Paul Slovic on the perception of risk also tells us a great deal about how laypeople's reasoning affects how they will see the defense's evidence on general causation (for a good summary of his work, see Slovic, Paul and Elke U. Weber (2002), "Perception of Risk Posed by Extreme Events," Paper prepared for discussion at the conference "Risk Management Strategies in an uncertain world," Palisades, New York, April 12-13, 2002.). Slovic points out that the way in which experts calculate risk differs greatly from how laypeople calculate risk. In both instances there are subjective components.

Applying Slovic's findings to a toxic tort case, for example, a juror will be more likely to perceive a substance as possessing great health risks if, among other things, exposure to the substance was involuntary, the plaintiff did not know he/she was exposed, the effect of exposure was delayed, and the risks and benefits to the public are unfairly distributed. At one end of the spectrum is a situation where a worker who had been warned of the dangers of exposure to a chemical used in manufacturing an important product knowingly exposes himself to the chemical and suffers an immediate injury.

At the other end of the spectrum is a person who as a child was exposed through groundwater contamination to the same chemical which was disposed of as waste and develops an injury many years later. A juror's perception of the risk of the chemical to the public at large (or to him or herself) will be much lower in the first situation than in the second. Although proving a causal connection may be more difficult for the plaintiff in the second situation, jurors will be much more bothered by it, and therefore, motivated to find a connection.

Jurors who reject the defense's general causation argument are not necessarily ignorant or stupid. They may simply be employing forms of reasoning that we all use to negotiate everyday life. But among the results of these forms of reasoning are:

1. A tendency to see patterns and clusters where there is actual randomness (a disease cluster, for example).

2. A tendency to believe that any chemical is toxic and that exposure to any amount of that chemical has the ability to cause any disease.

3. A tendency to trust studies based on small sample sizes as well as anecdotal evidence.

4. A tendency to ignore the prevalence of a disease in the general population.

5. A tendency to confuse correlations between exposure to a substance and the presence of a disease with a causal relationship.

Conclusion

In everyday life, scientists and lawyers do not behave like scientists and lawyers. For jurors a trial is everyday life. They do not and will not reason like experts. To the lawyer and scientist, jurors may be making mistakes in their reasoning, but they are not. They are doing the reasoning of everyday life. How this is done with scientific evidence can be understood and consequently the evidence can be presented to them in a way that makes sense to everyone, lawyers, scientists, and jurors alike.

Developing A Deworming Program

A regular parasite control program is critical to your horse's health. Infestations of internal parasites can cause your horse to feel ill all of the time, become colicky, and can even cause death. Parasites can cause damage to a horse's internal organs. Signs of parasite infestation include overall poor condition, dry and dull coat, diarrhea, bloating, and an itchy tail. Deworming your horse regularly is necessary because he can be continually re-infected from parasite eggs in pastures or from bot flies. A haphazard deworming program is hard on your horse's system; Getting rid of internal parasites and keeping them away is the best procedure for your horse's health.

In some cases where a horse is confined, as with stallions, or he is very young, old or not thriving, a modified worming program may be advisable. Consult your veterinarian to determine whether an individualized program is recommended.

Parasite Life Cycle

Most internal parasites are ingested as larvae, where they migrate to your horse's digestive system and live in the intestines. There, they mature and lay eggs which are passed out in manure. The eggs hatch into larvae and spread into the environment. Your horse, or another horse, ingests the larvae, and the cycle continues.

Purge Deworming

Deworming your horse with a paste dewormer purges the adults already in his system before they lay eggs. It breaks the cycle by stopping any more eggs from being passed. The problem lies with the fact that if he shares a grazing area with other horses or if manure is allowed to lie in his pasture, he can be immediately reinfected; The smaller the area, the bigger the potential problem. Horses normally will not graze near manure, but if the grazing area is not large enough to sustain the number of horses, or your pastures are not properly rotated, the desire for grass may over ride his natural tendencies.

Deworming with a paste dewormer requires all of the horses that share grazing space to be treated at the same time, thereby killing all of the adult parasites before eggs are laid. It is also good practice to remove manure from any grazing area. If you choose a paste dewormer, it is important to give your horse the proper dose. Be certain to read the dosage information on the packaging and to adjust dose according to each horse's age and weight. Rotate between wormers that have different types of chemical bases. This will not only kill a broader spectrum of parasites, it helps prevent parasite immunity to one chemical.

A sample rotation schedule might be:

1. Spring (March) An Ivermectin based product controls large strongyles, small strongyles, pinworms, ascarids, hairworms, large-mouth stomach worms, bots, lungworms, and intestinal threadworms.

2. Late Spring (May) A fenbendazole-based product (Safe Guard) controls large strongyles, encysted early- and late-third-stage and fourth-stage cyathostome larvae, small strongyles, pinworms, and ascarids.

3. Summer (July) A pyrantel pamoate based product (Strongid) control large strongyles, small strongyles, pinworms, ascarids, and tapeworms when double-dosed.

4. Fall (September) A moxidectin based product (Quest) controls large strongyles, small strongyles, pinworms, ascarids, encysted cyanthostomes, hairworms, large-mouth stomach worms, and bots

5. Late Fall (November) An oxibendazole based product (Anthelcide) large strongyles small strongyles, large roundworms, and pinworms, including various larval stages and threadworms

Daily Deworming

Another option is to use a daily dewormer. It is recommended to first use a larvacidal dewormer such as ivermectin or moxidectin before beginning a daily treatment plan. This will help destroy existing larvae and adult parasites. Pyrantel Tartrate is the chemical ingredient in daily wormers. It controls large strongyles, small strongyles, pinworms, ascarids, and tapeworms. If you choose a daily wormer, your horse should also receive ivermectin or moxidectin in early Spring and late Fall to control bots AND praziquantel in early Spring to control tapeworms.

Timing is Critical

For daily programs, be certain that your horse gets his daily dose every day, as missed doses will decrease the levels of dewormer in his system, rendering it less effective.

For purge programs, timing is essential. If you treat too early, targeted worms will be too immature to be affected by the dewormer. If you treat too late, adult worms will have the opportunity to produce eggs, infesting your horse's environment and raising his (and other horses) risk of women's jackets exposure.

How to Stay on Schedule

· Post a calendar in your barn. Clearly mark the day for each deworming.

· Purchase the entire year's worth of dewormer at one time. Write the horse's name and the date to be given with an indelible pen on the tube.

· Put the wormer out where it can be seen the day before you will administer it.

· Keep wormer out of the reach of children and pets.

Following a regular deworming schedule is critical to keeping your horse healthy.

The Care and Feeding of Die Cast Collections

There are die cast model cars and then, well, there are toys. Where is the dividing line and how to serious collectors of die cast vehicles judge the quality of their collections? Like most things, there's more to this collecting passion than meets the eye.

Die cast collectors must consider a number of factors that are shared by people in the larger collecting world. How common or rare is a piece they own, what's the condition, who made the item, is it associated with an important event or person, is it part of a complete set or one-of-a kind?

Quality Components
Since the quality of die cast vehicles has evolved over the past century, the value of a car may be related to the year it was produced. Most of the cars manufactured in the early 1900s were made with metal alloys not nearly as durable as today's metals and polymer plastics. They were simple shells, with painted exteriors and interior details such as steering wheels, seats and dashboards. In this case, owners of early die cast model cars might expect a little rust or hairline cracks on their collectible. However, the fact that they own an intact die cast car from this era is a rarity. Of course, the better the condition, the higher the value.

As die cast vehicles became more popular, they also became more det women's jackets ailed. Interiors of cars and trucks were faithfully reproduced. More innovations such as working steering wheels and doors were introduced. The industry became increasingly competitive and some die cast cars were treated like jewelry - polished and presented in the finest detail and packaging possible. Limited editions were introduced specifically to interest the growing number of serious collectors who could count on rarity to enhance their investment.

Getting Serious about Die Cast
A culture developed along with the number of casual and serious collectors. There were questions about how best to preserve and display die cast collections. People were interested in the value of their pieces and completing entire themed collections. For many people, die cast collecting moved from a hobby to a serious passion.

Like all collectors, the buyer is expected to be the ultimate judge of his or her die cast investment. The value of a model is often in its adherence to exact historical detail. Buyers purchase models from manufacturers they trust have done research and cut no corners when it comes to accuracy.

It's said that a perfect model is one that looks like the real thing, displayed on a showroom floor and ready to be driven away. That means paint jobs and upholstery must reflect historical reality - not the whimsy of the manufacturer. For cars of appropriate eras, working doors, trunks, hoods and other moving parts should be operational. In these matters, an educated collector has the edge on the casual buyer. Collectors not only know the details of the cars, they know which manufacturers adhere to precise detail and deliver what's promised.

Maintaining and Maturing
Collections also require care from the moment of purchase. Experts advise owners to apply a thin coat of wax to new die cast models using a very soft cloth and Q-Tips to get into the corners and crevasses. Only a light application of wax will help repel dust and clean up any hairline scratches that might mar the finish. They caution to not spray wax directly on the model because wax can build up and dry in places you can't reach - a cotton cloth instead of a chamois is recommended. Once waxed, a quick buffing makes the model ready for brilliant display.

That said, it's often the untouched die cast replica that commands the highest prices. In the collecting niche this is known as Mint in Box (MIB). All the packaging and foam that protects the model is untouched and the accompanying paperwork is saved. Some collectors find this level of "investment" isn't quite as enjoyable as handling and arranging their collections so cars can be appreciated from all angles. Of course, these cars require careful dusting with soft cloths and small, soft bristled brushes from time to time.

There are several group websites and auction sites to help collectors assess the value of their die cast treasures. Whether for pleasure or profit - or perhaps both - die cast model collectors share a love of nostalgia and accuracy for vehicles that never have to stop at the pump to keep on providing pleasure.

The Pekingese Dog. Dignity, Intelligence And Self-importance Accurately Describe The Pekingese

PEKINGESE - THE HISTORY OF THE PEKINGESE DOG

The Pekingese dates back as far as 2000 B.C. The Pekingese has for years, been worshiped in the temples of China. It was also customary for the emperor to select four Pekes who were to become his bodyguards.

The emperor would be preceded by these four Pekes on such occasions of state, whereby two of them would announce his approach at correct intervals with sharp, piercing barks, while the other two would daintily hold the hem of his royal robe in their mouths.

At night, they would carry small lanterns strapped to their necks. It would be considered a crime to steal or injure a Peke, and this would result in the punishment of death.

Most of the memorable history of the Pekinese goes back to these times, especially the old legend of the lion who fell in love with a marmoset, and in order for him to marry his lady love, the lion had to beg the patron saint of the animals, who was named Ah Chu, to reduce him to the size of a pigmy, but to allow him to retain his lion heart character.

It was then that the dogs Fu Lin or the Lion Dog of China was descended.

These then became the special pets of the Chinese Emperors, and such items of art such as screens, vases, pottery and sculpture included these likenesses. These dogs were described in Confucius times as little dogs.

The breeding of these dogs, which were now called Pekingese, reached its height during the Tao Kuang period between the years of 1821 to 1851. There were never any records of pedigrees kept. Prenatal impression was the method which was mostly in fashion.

The mothers would be taken to see pictures and sculptures of the most beautiful dogs several times a day. They would then have their preferred colors hung in their sleeping quarters, while they would sleep on sheepskin which would suggest a generous coat.

All Pekingese that were white in color were greatly prized and the subject of much superstition.

This was partly because of the rarity and partly because white is the color of mourning in China. Whenever a white Pekingese women's jackets came into sight, it was believed that it was the spirit of a great man and was usually kept in the Temple and treated with the highest of respect.

The Pekingese was first taken to England after the Allied occupation of Peking in 1860, whereby five of the dogs were found in the Summer Palace next to their masters who had committed suicide to avoid being captured.

The Pekingese received a great deal of attention in England, and one of the five dogs was even presented to Queen Victoria as a gift.

It was in 1911, after the death of the Empress Dowager that Chinese officials began an extensive extermination of the Pekingese, in order to prevent them from ending up in unworthy hands. There were very few Chinese Pekingese that escaped the massacre.

It was in the year of 1898 that the first Pekingese came to America.

The Pekingese has since been highly popular in the USA, ranking in the top 25 on the AKCs registrations listing. The Pekingese is an ideal pet. It makes a fabulous companion and has low exercise demands, which means that it is ideal for those individuals that do not have a great deal of mobility for long walks.

Some dog owners and breeders and changed the way they spell the original name and miss out the G; Pekinese is a now a commonly used term for this dog.

This breed is very loyal and affectionate, and because of its tendency to bark, it can make a good watchdog. These dogs do not like to be handled in a rough manner or being shouted at, as they have a very sensitive personality. Therefore, a Pekingese dog would not be recommended for such individuals that are impatient, or with very little time for their pet.

Even though the Pekingese does like to play and has energetic moments, it is at its happiest to sit and relax, gladly accepting any creature comforts that you may want to give it. It is a breed that gets along well with children, as long as the children are gentle. They will usually get on well with other animals, however, it is recommended that early socializing is undertaken.

It is essential to remember that the Pekingese can be somewhat proud, over confident and self-centered, therefore making it difficult to train.

Remodeling Your Home for Resale

It is true that remodeled kitchens provide a good return when selling your home, but such a project is very involved, costly, and often a headache. Instead of a complete overhaul, give your kitchen a fresh appearance by installing new appliances and replacing outdated cabinet hardware with trendy pieces.

Another simple improvement to your kitchen includes changing faucets and light fixtures. Freshen up bathrooms in the same manner as the kitchen. Change hardware pieces such as faucets, towel bars, soap dishes, as well as light fixtures. Also think about updating your mirror and other accessories in the room such as shower curtain, wall hangings, and towels.

Fixing up the yard will add significant curb appeal and is one of the most worthwhile improvements you can do for your home. Curb appeal refers to the view of your home from the street. Because the outside of your house is the first thing the buyer sees, the yard and entry leave a strong impression and help the buyer decide whether they even want to see the rest of the house.

So go out to your curb and look at your house; does it look nice? Can you even see it? If you have large trees or shrubs that cover the majority of the house, cut them back or get rid of them to increase your curb appeal. Make sure the yard is neat and trimmed and for a small investment you can put together a beautiful flower bed or adorn the entry with beautiful potted arrangements.

Also, consider improving the entry way by installing new trendy porch lights and a new mailbox. If necessary, give your home a fresh coat of paint. All of these improvements are relatively inexpensive but make a big difference when it comes to selling your home.

When it comes to carpet, first check to see if there are hardwood floors underneath by lifting up a corner in a closet. If there are hardwood floors, just have the carpets well cleaned and advertise that there are original hardwood floors.

More buyers are attracted to wood floors these days. If there is not wood below and the carpets are old, have the carpets replaced. New carpets give your home both the smell and look of newness.

Seriously consider painting the entire interior of your home, especially if it hasn't been done in a while. When you are repainting, choose light neutral colors. Although dark or bright colors may be trendy and look nice, they limit the buyers' ability to picture the home as their own. A light and neutral color will clean up the walls without turning off any customer.

Although you may love your neon beer sign in your living room, some buyers may not and can be turned off by such personal items. Try to make your house more generic and hide your quirky belongings; try to make it look like a model home. It helps the buyer picture their own belongings on the wall.

Keep your house clean. This costs nothing but makes all the difference. No one wants to pay a good price for a cluttered and dirty house. If you are a pack rat, now is the time to change the habit and throw it all away or invest in a storage unit to place all your junk. Avoid a cluttered look and make sure everything has a place and is put away.

These small improvements will make a big difference and will give you the best opportunity to sell your home quickly and for the fashion jackets online best price.

Pekingese Dog Breed Personality Traits, History, Description, Grooming and Living Condtions

The Pekingese is relatively short with strong boned front legs it is quite muscular with a slow dignified walking style, they have a medium to long coat with their topcoat being quite thick and course and the undercoat softer. Their ideal weight is between 8 and 10 pounds; they are surprisingly sturdy and quite muscular. They come in a variety of colours including Sables White Gold black and tan and unusually blue or slate. Their face is a little pug nosed in appearance with a black mask.

History. As you may guess, the Pekingese originated in China, although exactly when has been lost in the annals of antiquity. Although what appears to be the commonest story, is that the dogs were a favourite of the Emperor, and pursuant to that were revered, and they lived mostly in the temples of China. History dates this breed of dog at anything from 2000 years ago to 2000 years BC. Pekingese dogs were introduced to England in 1860; this was after the occupation of Peking during the second opium War. One of the original five dogs taken to England was, allegedly, presented to Queen Victoria as a gift. The first official standard was written in 1898 for the Pekingese dog, and during 1904, in England, the Peking club of England was established. The first of this breed in Ireland had been given to a Dr Heuston; it had been presented to him by the Chinese minister, as a sign of gratitude for his work establishing smallpox vaccination clinics in various locations, about China.

Temperament. Typically speaking, the Pekingese is a loyal and loving dog without being too clingy, to its owner. They are a proud dog and are of regal stature, often giving the impression, as they look around, that they are studying their minions. They can be very stubborn, and definitely like to have their women's coats own way. On the upside, if the Pekingese respects you, they will be well mannered with very little formal training required. However, problems can occur if the dog gets the impression that they are actually in charge. Indoors they tend to generally lounge around the house, but can burst into sudden bouts of activity, which can be of great entertainment to the owners and family friends. They are a fearless dog, and may get into arguments with animals much larger than themselves, but they are very strong considering their small stature, and do not back down easily.

Health issues. Quite common problems with Pekingese are; breathing, due to their short snout, they tend to sound rather noisy when breathing, this may, in itself, sound funny, however, the noise is caused by the actual problems with this breeds air passages. Similar problems occur in dogs with similar heads and noses, the bulldog for example. These dogs should not be left in the open in extremes of weather or temperature, and should never be left in a car on a sunny day. Eye ulcers can also result from infections or minor injuries. If looked after correctly most problems will be spotted early and referred to the vet, in plenty of time.

Grooming. They have a great tendency to enjoy grooming, and silly as it may sound, they seem much happier when they look tidy and well groomed. They can have quite long hair which if they are an active dog will probably require brushing and combing daily. More sedentary dogs may only need grooming 2 or 3 times a week.

Living conditions. Treating your Pekingese as if they were a royal visitor is very likely what the dog would want. They are not, as you may think, a dog which will sit on your lap endlessly. They do have a tendency to like making the choice when they get made a fuss of, that is not to say that you cannot sit there and stroke them, but it is not a good idea to keep picking the dog up and fussing over it when it wants to go exploring, or simply sit somewhere else peacefully.

Online Dating - Why is Nobody Emailing Me? (Five Possible Reasons)

Copyright (c) 2010 Dirk Sayers

Every once in a while I get an email through my web site from someone who asks this question. I've answered it elsewhere, but it comes up persistently, revealing just how common it is. It plagues almost everyone starting out...not to mention many who've been at it a while, but are going through a dry spell. While I hear it most from women, it also comes from men who know I've been in the online dating community. For them, it takes a somewhat different form, usually: "Why is no one answering my emails?"

My answer generally takes the form of the following questions. Note that my reasoning assumes you're on a reputable site in a geographical area with plenty of prospects. If the assumption is true, there has to be reason (or reasons) it isn't working.

1. Is your profile visible? Sound silly? More than one I have known has hidden their profiles for a period, taking a break from online dating and decided later to get back in the game. One woman I know even went so far as to completely revise her profile and update her photos. She waited impatiently for the flood of emails she expected. No hits on her profile and no responses to emails she sent. Finally she contacted the Customer Service who advised her that her profile was still hidden. Embarrassed but relieved, she changed her settings and was off to the races. The lesson? If you're getting no responses and no traffic, check to see if your profile is visible.

2. Does your profile essay invite a response? Try looking at it from the perspective of the kind of man or woman you hope to attract. Would YOU contact you, if you were reading your own profile as a prospect for a relationship? Specifically, ask yourself the same questions you asked (or should have asked) when you developed your profile.

a. Who am I really, according to this profile? Is it accurate? Does it represent me well? Would I date me, if I were on the other side of the gender line?

b. What does my profile say I want? Is it clear and realistic? Would the someone I'm searching for, conclude he or she is a fit, based on my profile? Is there enough information in the profile to help him/her make that decision and to comment on in his/her first email? If not...revise your essay.

c. What don't I want? Is it written all over my profile in negative terms? If so, you may have your answer. Most men and women will avoid negativity out of self-defense. It's contagious and it's toxic. If you MUST get what you don't want out there somehow, turn it around and emphasize positive attributes that are essentially the opposite of what you're trying to avoid.

d. What do I bring to the table? Does it come out in the profile? Is it reasonable to expect it will be "enough" for the man or woman I seek? Might some find it overwhelming? There's such a thing as too good...from the perspective of the viewer of your profile. You can read that "too good to be true." In this day of naked self-promotion and shameless marketing, there's a temptation to fall into that trap; to make yourself heard over the noise. It can backfire. If you've ever been rejected for a job because you're "over-qualified," you know exactly what I mean.

3. Does your profile have a photo or photos? If the answer is no, then you have your answer. Embarrassed to be online? Afraid your boss is going to read your profile? If you're not willing to post a photo, don't expect online dating to work for you. Attraction in a relationship with intimacy as a goal will usually begin with the visual...particularly if you're talking about men. If you do have a photo or photos posted, see question 4, following.

4. Does your photo (or photos) represent you well? Find someone similar to the man or woman you're trying to attract and ask them. If the answer is no, ask them why. If it's something you can fix or at least improve, do it. Hard on the ego? Well, how badly do you want to succeed?

5. Does your profile essay invite a response? If not, revise your profile essay...now! As every successful sales person knows, if you don't offer the sale to your prospective client, you are missing sales. The same is true in online dating. If you don't invite someone to contact you, implicitly and explicitly, a fair number of them won't, for a variety of women's jackets reasons. Granted, some who opt out probably should anyway. But wouldn't you rather be the one to decide? You can't make intelligent choices if you don't have any. Wrap your profile up with a nonthreatening "come-on" that makes it safer for them to take a chance.

The reasons above are certainly not the only reasons the inbox on your profile may be gathering dust. But they tend to be the most common. If you look at the questions above with a clear and an open mind, most of the things that get in the way of success can be remedied. Best of love and luck!

Safer Parking Reduces Your Chance of Being a Victim of Crime

Where you park your car will go a long way to determine just how safe your vehicle, and even yourself, will be. At home always use a garage if you have one. Your vehicle is 40 times less likely to be stolen or broken into if you keep it in a garage rather than on the street (Home Office). Always make sure that your garage is strong and secure and ensure that you lock both your vehicle and garage once it is inside. If you do not have a garage then park it on your driveway or somewhere from where you or others can see it easily. If you park on the street then ensure it is somewhere well lit and open.

When out and about try and use an attended car park. These may cost a little more but you have the added security of someone watching over your car and its possessions. Where possible look for a car park which is part of the police-approved Safer Parking Scheme that displays the Park Mark Safer Parking award plaque. On average, car parks that have implemented certain measures in order to achieve the standard, such as better lighting and surveillance, have managed to reduce car crime by 70%. There are now over a thousand Secured Car Parks across the UK, each entitled to display a special plaque indicating it has met the required standard. Look out for this plaque and take it as a sign of a better place to park.

If you cannot find a secure car park then park somewhere that is quite busy and that is well lit at night for your own safety and security. Look for a car park that is well supervised with restricted entry and exit points and CCTV cameras. Where possible, reverse into your space so that you can leave quickly in an emergency. If you use a multi-storey car park then park near an exit and try to avoid parking next to pillars as people can use these as cover to break into your car or wait for your return.

When using a car park never leave your parking ticket in the car, unless it is a pay and display car park. If you do then if someone gets into your car and gets it started then they will be able to pay your parking fee and leave with your car - a small price to pay for a stolen car.

If you have to park in public then look for somewhere well lit, ope fashion coats online n and that other people can see. Ensure that it is in a safe area, especially if you will be returning to the vehicle in the dark.

Finally, whenever and where ever you park your car make sure you lock all doors, close all windows and never leave anything on display. When we say anything, we mean anything. Take anything valuable, such as car stereos, sat navs and mobile phones, with you. The glovebox will be the first place a thief will look for such items. Even items you might not consider valuable may be worth something to a thief such as a coat on the backseat. Not only do you risk losing anything you leave in the car but then you'll have the inconvenience of replacing any locks or windows that have been damaged during the break in. If you have to keep anything in the vehicle then keep it out of display, preferably locked away in the boot.

Poodle Is As Poodle Does

I read the phrase in the title somewhere, and even though it is a blatant rip off of a line from Forest Gump, I thought it was a pretty appropriate way to describe the world's oldest water retriever, circus performer and truffle hunter.

Poodles are lively and active dogs, are very loyal and absolutely love (crave?) attention. The life span of the Poodle is about 12 to 15 years or more, with some that I've heard of living up to 18. They are a very smart dog - one of the smartest by any method you care to apply. I witnessed a doggy "IQ test" in which the dog's head was covered by a blanket and the dog timed to see how long it would take to uncover itself. Not surprisingly, the winner was the border collie - with the poodle coming in a very close second place.

The Standard Poodle is the largest of the Poodle breed, standing at least 15 in. (38 cm) at the shoulder, and is more than just a pretty face. Experts agree that the Standard Poodle is one of the oldest breeds specializing in hunting after game in the water, and is still sometimes used as a gun dog. History shows that the Standard Poodles that we know and women's coats enjoy today probably developed around the 17th century in Germany. They are most likely descended from early German water retrievers, but may in addition be related to spaniels from the Iberian Peninsula. Although originally a hunting dog, the Standard Poodle today is primarily a companion and show dog. They are proud, elegant, dignified, gentle and good-natured.

The Toy, or French Poodle, is the smallest at 11 in. (29cm) or under at the highest point of the shoulders. Originating from the German "Pudel", the French developed the "Poodle" into the miniaturized version we know today as the Toy Poodle. These small dogs are almost exclusively companion and show dogs, but can be occasionally seen performing tricks on a stage or in circuses. The Toy Poodle is sensitive and remarkably intelligent.

Dogs ranging in size larger than the Toy Poodle yet smaller than the Standard Poodle are classified as Miniature Poodles. The Miniature Poodle is considered a cheerful, super smart, sensitive and highly trainable companion dog.

The Poodle has a very attractive, sturdy appearance, and displays an air of distinction and dignity peculiar to the breed. Although they come in different sizes, the shape and appearance of the breed is consistent. The general appearance of the body of a poodle is of good proportions, the length of the body generally exceeding the height at the withers.

The coat of a Poodle is curly, harsh and dense. Poodles actually have a double coat that has the quality and appearance of lamb's wool. It is fine, fluffy, light in texture and knots readily when not cared for. Because of variations in grooming, a Poodle can be the most elegant of dogs or nearly the most wretched. Most purebred puppies will have their tails docked, giving them a distinctive, powder-puff appearance.

The Poodle's temperament is without a doubt one of the breeds best qualities - however it often depends on its size. There is generally a noticeable temperament difference between a toy, miniature and standard poodle.

Perhaps no other dog has been cross-bred as much as the Poodle to try to enhance two breeds' qualities. "Poo" hybrid dogs crop up everywhere. Examples include the Labradoodle (Labrador Retriever) and Goldendoodle (Golden Retriever), which were bred primarily as hypoallergenic companion dogs. The appearance of these dogs range from a shaggy looking Golden Retriever to a curl relaxed Poodle, but usually something in between. The Schnoodle (Schnauzer) presents the temperament features of the Schnauzer (liveliness of the Terrier) and the appearance/intelligence of the Poodle. The Cockapoo (Cocker Spaniel) has a squarely built appearance with full but less kinky fur. Other variations include the Maltipoo (Maltese), Bich-poo (Bichon Frise), and Yorkipoo (Yorkshire Terrier).

The poodle certainly is a pretty amazing breed. Intelligent and cheery, the Poodle can be counted as one of the most popular breeds of dogs in America, as well as worldwide. The Poodle is commonly acknowledged to be the most wisely intelligent of all members of the canine race. If you are looking for a dog to do just about anything, a Poodle might be right for you. But always keep in mind - "Poodle is as Poodle does".

Purchasing The Perfect Paint

An appropriately applied paint transf fashion jackets orms the look of a piece of furniture or a room. No matter how plain, their outward appearance undergoes a notable transformation when paints coat them.

To the wiser, however, the final results can be even lovelier when considerations are taken way ahead of time. Selecting the right paint or color coat for the job definitely doesn't start and end with shades that are "nice to look at."

The first step is to make sure that good lighting is a given in your area of painting. Cover or remove all flooring and furniture, patch, fills, cracks and sand holes on the surface. Clean thoroughly and carefully all the surfaces to be painted. Plug covers, switches and other electrical materials should be removed. Take measurements of your room size, and count the windows and doors to determine the quantity of paint that you will need.

Indeed, it is utterly frustrating to spend your precious effort and time applying paint to something which has an underneath surface that is tattered with various imperfections. Neither is it clever to spend several hours painting and then spend as much number of hours or even more cleaning up.

There are several paints available that you can choose from, all of these guaranteeing superior results. An initial yet critical step is to select the correct paint for exterior and interior surfaces. Interior paint is quicker in drying, while the exterior paint dries at a slower pace. Interior paints also have "less offensive" smell than exterior paints do.

According to experts, finishes of an interior paint can be classified into five types. The gloss paint fits on areas that need to be cleaned frequently. These include bath walls and cabinets, and the kitchen. Meanwhile, the paint known as semi-gloss shines less, but is famed for its durability. There is also a satin paint that is of a distinctively low shine, but is much easier to clean. The eggshell kind of paint is suitable for walls of living room, bedroom and family room. The eggshell paint lets out a glossy effect that is barely discernable. The last kind is the flat paint that is almost not of reflective quality, hence is perfect for ceilings and walls that have certain surface irregularities.

It is also significant to find color swatches that look good in lights, either night or day. Remember that the ideal blue can in fact be awkward and look unfit in a room when your lamps are turned on. To avoid ending up with the wrong shades, find the one that suits for the most time that you will be in your room. So if you are out working for the most part and home only during the evenings, choose the shade that best suits in artificial or electric light.

Mostly, cans of paint offer information regarding the paint's expected coverage under usual circumstances. Under-buying is not recommended since you are sure to put in some touch-ups after the main paint work.

With these considerations at hand, you may already check home centers or paint stores. Choose chips of paint color that are sure to coordinate with what you like. It will also be helpful for you to talk with a salesperson about your project. Gather as much suggestions, tips and opinions as you can for the proper gloss level and the most suitable product for your paint job.

Brussels Griffon Dog Breed Facts And Info

There are two types of Brussels Griffon - the Rough and the Smooth. Both are equally delightful companions. The rough coated Brussels Griffon is probably the most common. The smooth coated Brussels Griffon is easier to groom.

The rough coat should be wiry and dense, the harder and more wiry the better. The Brussels Griffon should never look or feel woolly. There should be no silky hair on the Brussels Griffon. The coat of a Brussels Griffon should not be long and shaggy. The rough coated Brussels Griffon should be distinctly different all over from the smooth coated Brussels Griffon. The Brussels Griffon is a rugged little dog that should look natural and not overly trimmed. The Brussels Griffon colors are red, black and black and tan.

The head of a Brussels Griffon should be covered with wiry hair slightly longer around the eyes, nose, cheeks, and chin, which forms a fringe. The smooth coated Brussels Griffon is similar to the Boston Terrier or Bulldog, with no trace of wire hair.

Of all the toy dogs, the Brussels Griffon is one of the most interesting and different. The modern version of the Brussels Griffon is a Belgian street dog crossed with the Affenpinshcer. Throughout the years various breeds were brought in for various features. The most successful crosses were maintained. Over time the terrier-like charm with almost a human expression is what we now know as the Brussels Griffon.

The Brussels Griffon is a rarity among dogs, however, he has faired very well in the show world. Some have become top winners in all-breed competition.

Equipment needed to groom the Brussels Griffon:

Natural Bristle brush or hound glove

Medium-toothed comb

Fine-toothed comb

Thinning scissors

Tweezers

The Brussels Griffon needs brushing, bathing, drying, ear cleaning, nail trimming. The coat of a Brussels Griffon also requires hand stripping. Do not use clippers on a Brussels Griffon. The use of clippers will cause the coat of a Brussels Griffon to lose its natural texture and the color will fade.

For routine grooming use a natural bristle brush or hound glove. Regular brushing will reduce the need for frequent bathing. Regular brushing helps keep the coat free of dead hairs and the need for coming is lessened. Over-coming may take out too much live undercoat.

You should work through the coat with a bristle brush, then comb through with a medium-toothed comb. Leave a few hairs on the back between your finger and thumb and gently pull if the hair comes out easily, the coat is ready to strip.

Stripping Method for the body:

1. Start stripping the topcoat of the Brussels Griffon at the base of the neck between the shoulder blades down the back and side of the tail. Note: Always strip with the growth of the hair toward you.

2. Remove the long hairs from the Brussels Griffon thighs.

3. Remove the thick hair growing on the back of the hind legs, and the longest hairs from the front of the legs and feet. Do over strip in this area. The desired appearance of a Brussels Griffon feet are cat-like. Over stripping of the feet can detract from this cat-like look you want to achieve.

4. Strip the shoulders around to the chest. Remove long hairs from the leg.

6. Strip the chest at the front to the lowest point.

7. The only place you may use clippers on the Brussels Griffon is under the stomach and around the genital area. You can also scissor this area clear.

8. Take a look at your Brussels Griffon as he stands on the grooming table. Remove all stray hairs that detracts from the smart, balanced look you want to achieve.

Stripping Method for the head of a Brussels Griffon:

1. Start behind the eyes. Strip only a few strands of hair at a time. Work back to each ear and over the top of the head. Leave some longer hairs ove fashion coats online r the eyes to form eyebrows.

2. Strip the back of the ears, down to the chest. Continue down the side of the neck toward the jawbone. This method of stripping gives a distinct beard that blends into the chest.

3. Comb the beard forward to enable you to pluck the ear and below the beard to the throat. You want a clean neckline and to accentuate the head.

4. Remove long hairs from the inside the ear. The edge of the ear can be closely trimmed with scissors for a neat finish.

5. The point between the eyes, just above the nose is called "the stop." This is a tender area of the Brussels Griffon. You will need to use tweezers to remove a small amount of hair in this area.

6. Remove the hairs from the corner of the eye with tweezers or curved scissors. This will prevent the hairs from sticking into the eyes of your Brussels Griffon and/or accumulating debris.

7. Remove the hair of the beard that adjoins the ears in a direct line from the corner of each eye.

8. Tidy around the anus of your Brussels Griffon with scissors or thinning scissors for a neat finish.

9. Trim hair from under the feet and between the toes.

Now you are ready to bathe your Brussels Griffon. Try using a natural mild shampoo and always rinse well. Check the dog's nails, ears and teeth. You may hand or cage dry your Brussels Griffon.

How often should your Brussels Griffon be stripped? This depends upon whether or not he is a pet or a show dog. For pets, a complete strip twice a year will be sufficient with tidying in between. For the show dog, stripping is ideally done in stages - side of body and legs first, then back, then head, because they grow in different stages.

You Can Have Great-Looking Hands With These Steps

Do you see womens hand and wish yours looked as good as theirs do? Maybe you visit a manicurist frequently and need to save a bit of money.

While I do not recommend that you completely toss your manicurist because of the many benefits that are achieved through the hand and arm massa women's coats ge, I do think that you can cut back on these visits.

To make your hands look their best from home, you need to know how to do a proper manicure (sans the massage, which is not very relaxing to do to yourself).
To perform an at home manicure, you will need: a 4 way buffer, a pair of nail clippers, a soft toothbrush, cuticle oil, polish (base, color and top coat), a hand towel or washcloth, and a bowl filled with warm water and a mild, antibacterial soap. If you like, you may want to get a bottle of cuticle oil, but many men opt to avoid this step. Even if you have just washed you hands, you need to use the antibacterial soap in your water; if you should happen to cut yourself, you don't want bacteria to enter the wound.

Dip one hand in the warm water for about five minutes. Take it out, brush the tops of the nails and under the free edge (white tip), and dry with your hand towel (or washcloth). To dry the nails, rub the towel up your nail, pushing against the cuticle. If you always dry your hands this way (after hand washing, showering, etc), your cuticles will naturally become exfoliated and look neater. I do not recommend using cuticle nippers or scissors because they will cause your cuticle to become thicker in time.

Trim your nails using the nail clippers. This should not go into the corners of the nail as it can cause a variety of conditions (especially on toes when you cut the corners too deep).

On your 4 way buffer, you can feel the different grits by feeling how rough each section is. Use the roughest section and file the free edge, rounding the corners (you don't want to scratch anyone).

Using the surface that is the slightly smoother, go back along the edges, removing the filings that you can see. Rub your finger across each edge, smoothing rough places with this same section of the file.

Now, using the smoothest surface (aside from the grey, rubber section), lightly buff the tops of your nails to remove light ridges. Deep ridges cannot be removed because you file too much nail away trying to get rid of them.

This step is only used if you are not going to use any polish, buff the nail with the rubber section of your 4 way buffer. Apply a tiny amount of cuticle oil to each cuticle and massage into the nail and cuticle (you DO NOT want to apply cuticle oil right now if you are planning to polish you nails as the polish will not adhere to the nail properly and may take much longer to dry.

If you are using polish, apply your base coat now, taking care not to apply it too thick. Base coat is a must if you want to grow your nails or you are using colored polish. If you only want a clear polish, simply apply two coats of this base coat and let dry. Again, if you are ONLY using this clear polish, apply your cuticle oil, applying a tiny amount to each cuticle and massage into the nail and cuticle.
